Put New Haven First

Privacy

Short version: your letter goes from your own email, your address never leaves your device, and we only keep your name and email if you ask us to send you updates.

Your address

We use your street address only to find your ward. The site downloads the City of New Haven’s public list of addresses and ward boundaries and does the match in your browser. Your address is not sent to us or to any other service, and we don’t store it.

Your letter

Your letter opens in your own email app (or Gmail or Outlook in your browser). It is sent from your account, by you, only when you press send. We never see it and never send email on your behalf.

Updates

If you check “Email me updates,” we keep your name, email, ward number and whether you wrote as a resident or business owner, so we can tell you about the vote. We don’t sell or share it. To be removed, email hello@putnewhavenfirst.com and we’ll delete it.

Counting letters

When you press a send or copy button, we record the ward number, whether you wrote as a resident or business owner, and which button you used. That record has no name, email or address in it.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit and which buttons they use. It sets cookies in your browser. We’ve turned off Google’s advertising features for this site, and we don’t send your name, email, address or letter to Google.

Who we are
